Analog Encoders - An encoder is the central piece of hardware needed to insert Vchip ratings into television programs. Not all the encoders are Vchip compatible, but many existing encoders can be "retrofitted" for Vchip compatibility. With the CPC-700 Captionmaker, Closed caption data and Vchip ratings can be inserted into a video at the same time.
