Caption Data Bridge

The eeg CAPTION DATA BRIDGES offer a simple means of maintaining a continuous Line 21 data service when processing of the encoded video signal is required. Two models are offered. The CB 411 is available for use in an analog only environment. The new CB 412 can operate in a mixed Analog / Digital environment.

The Caption Data Bridge extracts the Line 21 data from the Source Video Input signal and inserts it into the Master Video Output signal. The data present in both fields are processed simultaneously. A typical installation is shown in the figure below.

The eeg Model CB 412 CAPTION DATA BRIDGE offers a simple means of maintaining a continuous two field Line 21 data service when processing of the encoded video signal is required. It has provision for processing either Analog or Digital video signals. The Model CB 412 handles two video inputs simultaneously. It extracts the Line 21 data from the Source signal and inserts it into Line 21 of the Master signal. 

Vertical caption position can be restricted via a GPI input. This allows broadcasters the ability to re-position captions so they do not interfere with graphics or emergency alert crawls appearing at the top or bottom of the picture.
