Installing CPC-800 Encoder Over an Older Version

If you already have a older version of CPC-800 Encoder software on your computer, you may need to uninstall the software first before installing a new version only if you find any anomalies. CPC-800 software installation allows you to

  • install the new software or

  • remove the old version and install the new version.

TC display for videos longer than 6 hours
Timecodes did not display after 05:57:54:24 for videos longer than 6 hours. This bug has been fixed in this release as of today 09/14/07

Tab Delimited/Line Delimited Text file import bug fixed
Opening special formatted *.TXT files was causing CPC-800 encoder to delete them from the hard drive.  This has been fixed in this release as of today 09/06/07

Net. framework compatibility
The latest version is compatible to .Net framework version 1.1.4322 and 2.0.50727

Installer feature enhancement
The installer has a new layer program CPCSetup.exe. This checks the existance of .Net framework and Windows Media Encoder software and if does not exist then prompt for installation.

The new installation layer also checks for any previous version of CPC-800 Encoder in the client computer

Windows Vista compatibility
The latest version of CPC-800 Encoder application runs on Windows Vista.

Real Video support enhancement
The option is added for the RealText export to let you choose the real player video before the .smi is exported.

Also the .smi file now refers to the actual name of realvideo .rm as it always showed RealVideo.rm

Fixed Time Stamping error
There was a bug in recording time stamps in post production mode. Sometimes it used to record frames as 30 which does not exits. Maximum allowed frames in timecode is 29. Now the bug has been fixed.

Erasing previous caption in Roll-up mode
If Roll-up captioning, if there is a blank line in the script, it sends just a blank line. On the other hand, if you like to clear all the caption lines on the screen, then send a line with \c or \C as control character set at the beginning of a line. 

The following run time errors are fixed
A number of run time errors has been fixed. Below are a few situations:

  • If you open a Line Delimited Text File with No Time Code, then time stamp a few captions, when you go to save as a real text export, the program used to crash with the following error: "Length cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: length"
  • On the Media Properties window change the production type from LIVE to POST.
  • From the top menu click Layout > Assets.
