Requirements
• The ability to communicate your solid
understanding of digital video editing systems (Final Cut Pro, DVD
Studio Pro, Sony Vegas, and Avid) and how our captioning software
will work with these systems.
• A knowledge of video production, VTR tape
formats such as HDCAM, XDCAM, DVCPRO HD, DVCAM, P2, etc.
• A command of digital video

• Not afraid to learn and explore new software
and equipment to create solutions that maximize the utility of the
software. • Advanced
experience with NLE systems, especially Final Cut Pro, Avid and
Adobe Premiere.
Job responsibilities include
1.
Provide advanced tech support to customers via phone and e-mail
(40%) • You need to
know how our software works inside out, and how it interfaces to
various non-linear editing systems (especially Final Cut Pro and
Avid) in order to provide technical support to our users. Good
verbal communication skills are needed.
• Also provide technical support to our own
captioning service dept.
2. Respond to customer inquiries via the phone
(35%) You will
describe how our software works to potential customers who call us,
and educate them about closed captioning and how CPC software can
solve their captioning needs. No cold calls, no hard selling, just
educating. 3.
Constant product enhancement (25%)
• Provide input to our programmers as to what
new features are needed in the software.
• Make video tutorials for our clients with
written instructions about troubleshooting and tips for our web
forum and user manuals.
• Take the questions that you are frequently
asked, and put it in written form on our forum.

(Post-Production) Captioner

You will do
post-production (not live) closed captioning and subtitling of
videos at our office in Rockville, MD.
Qualifications
Excellent proofreading
skills, strong written and oral communication skills, organizational
skills, detail oriented, self-motivated, eagerness to work closely
with others as well as the ability to work with little supervision.
It's a plus if you are quick to learn new software (Windows & Mac);
and are familiar with digital video and video tape formats.
Possibility of working from home one or two days per week.
Specific Skills Required
• Basic office applications
for both Mac OS X and Windows platforms
• Technical knowledge of the fundamentals of
analog/digital video
• Experience with various video technologies and formats
Ideal
candidate will also possess the following skills, or display the
ability to learn these skills quickly:
• Project management and

Repurposing of video formats and files
• Familiarity with the following video formats:

Manage the closed captioning of videos in our
captioning service
Requirements: • Thorough understanding of digital video
work-flows and file formats • Experienced using non-linear
editing systems (Final Cut Pro and/or Avid experience a plus) •

be flexible, work under pressure, resolve problems quickly •
Experience in video operations, sales, or technical support a plus

• Interact with customers over the phone; prepare quotes and
proposals; process incoming orders; keep customers updated as to the
status of their job • Coordinate and track the progress of
out-of-house and in-house captioners, assign them captioning jobs,

and error-free • Schedule the captioning work-flow so each
captioning job is captioned, quality checked, shipped and billed on
