Please
Adhere
to the Following Closed Captioning Guidelines
(Scroll to the
bottom for the order forms)
It is important to adhere to
the following guidelines for all work being submitted to CPC
for Captioning Service.
Transcripts submitted MUST be
exactly as you would like the text to appear in the captions or
subtitles.
- When submitting transcripts
from shooting scripts, or other sources, please be sure they
are already formatted to remove any extra text.
- Plain text files are best.
- Any special formatting should
be indicated in the text file. (i.e. speaker indicators)
- Any corrections or additional transcription
needed will incur an additional fee.
Videos should be submitted in
the format desired to be closed captioned or subtitled.
- When sending us a
proxy movie (digital video file), please make sure it
has the same frame rate as your final
output. (i.e. do not send us a 15fps or 24fps
video file if your final output will be 29.97fps.)
- Additional charges will apply
when converting from tape to digital or vice versa. (call for
specific details)
- Digital files should already
be converted and compressed to the final source format.
(Conversions can alter the file otherwise.)
- Master tapes should contain
the final version of the video.
- Any additional editing of the
video or format conversions will incur an additional fee.
When submitting work for
captioning service or subtitling service, please be sure to submit
the completed Order Form, Transcript (if applicable), Video ALL AT
THE SAME TIME. When tapes are to be physically delivered to
CPC, then please include the Order Form. Files that can be
submitted electronically, such as videos and transcripts, should
also be submitted or uploaded together.
As is the case with all service
related work, each job is different and carries with it certain
undeterminable variables. Please feel free to call and
discuss these variables with CPC PRIOR to submitting work for
service.
